Flickerfest 2006, Australia’s premiere international short film festival,
will be held at Bondi Pavilion on Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach.
The Festival consists of a main competitive program, a short documentary competition & an Australian competition in addition to our special programs and forums out of competition.
Following the Sydney Festival, the films in the main competitive programs will go on tour around selected cities and regional centres of Australia.
Eligibility
The International competition is open to any production available for screening
on 35mm or 16mm. Betacam SP is only acceptable for the Australian and documentary
competitions.
All films must be under 30 minutes. (In rare and exceptional cir-cumstances the festival committee reserves the right to accept films of longer duration). Films must be in English or have English subtitles.
Note: In order to be eligible for the International competition, your production must be on film and must participate in the National Tour with prints required until April 2006.
Fees
Australian Entries: $30.00AUD (GST inclusive), International entries: $35.00
AUD (Australian dollars) per production. Schools and institutions may send
compilation tapes for a single fee of $100.00 AUD.

If your film is selected for competition we will need your print until
early April 2006. THESE TERMS MUST BE AGREED TO PRIOR TO SUBMITTING YOUR
APPLICATION.

The following material must be included:
- Completed entry form with entry fees.
- VHS PAL preview tape with English subtitles if foreign language.
- Any reviews or publicity / festival screenings & awards received

Successful entrants will be notified no later than November. Prints must arrive no later than 8th December 2005.
Shipping and Insurance
The forward freight is the responsibility of the film makers. Flickerfest
accepts no responsibility for technical damage to films, loss or
theft for
the period of time that the prints are in possession of the Festival.
Flickerfest will pay the return freight of participating film prints
only to the country
of origin.
Rights granted by the Producer
The producer grants Flickerfest the rights to reproduce the film, or part
of film; to include it as part of a compilation or collection; and to exhibit
the film by any means of communicating to the public: Including theatrical
screening, internet, cable, satellite, or by any medium for purposes of
promoting the festival. The Producer warrants that they have obtained all
the necessary permissions to enter this film and that the film does not
infringe the moral & ethcal rights including copyright of any third
party.
Filmmakers and Guests
Whilst we welcome the attendance of all filmmakers in competition, Unfortunately
our festival budget does not extend to cover filmmaker’s travel &
accommodation expenses and visiting film-makers must assume their costs.
However, Flickerfest will do all possible to find budget accommodation or
billeting opportunities.
